It is no secret that I am smitten with the classic french girl style! There is no denying that the ultimate french girl style icon was Brigitte Bardot! For my entire life I have heard people say "Oh your name is Brigette, like Brigitte Bardot"? While we pronounce our names differently, I have always been curious about the woman with the similar name as mine. I recall looking her up on Google and thinking that she was stunning. The only style I love more than the classic french girl look is the 60's inspired look. There is something about sharp winged liner and a messy bouffant hairstyle that is so whimsical and romantic to me. With the mod trend being all the rage right now, I thought I would take advantage of my chance to create my version of the iconic Brigitte Bardot look.
Starting from the very top I styled my hair in true Bardot fashion! A messy half up bouffant with tasseled waves. I finished it with a sweet little velvet bow on the back! My top is beyond 60's inspired! I adore the classic black and white print and length of the sleeves.
My fit and flare A-line skirt was the perfect flirty piece to compliment this look and give a nod to the past. I wore black stockings to create a streamline silhouette and draw the eye down to the perfect mod block heeled boot. These boots actually look like they have been stored away since 1960! The heel height and shape are mod perfection!
Of course we must not forget about my vintage Chanel clip earrings that I picked up on our recent trip to Paris! My winged eyeliner added the perfect finishing touch to this retro inspired look!
I am so glad I was able to have a true Brigitte Bardot inspired fashion moment! Her 60's mod style has truly held this 90's kids' attention for years. I also plan to recreate this hair and makeup look for the upcoming holiday season! I felt so glam with my big hair and dramatic eye makeup!
